12th
DECEMBER 2005
Jason has had a very successful December. First
he won the silver medal at the British Primary Men's Championship, gaining
two new personal best scores, 18.57 for his free programme technical mark
and an overall best for his free of 44.91. He followed that up with two
memorable performances at the Champions on Ice Gala at the Linx Ice Arena
in Aberdeen, alongside many British figure skating stars. His programmes
proved very popular with the large audience.
Jason is already
starting work on a new programme for next season, jointly choreographing
it with his mother.
27th OCTOBER
2005
Jason has now taken part in two NJS tests, in
Sheffield and in Dumfries and is training hard for the British Primary
Championships in Sheffield on November 29th.
SEPTEMBER
2005
Jason is
now training for the Scottish Championships in Dumfries. His two programmes
will be skated on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st of October. The new free
programme is looking really good and was well received by the audience
at the NJC tests in Sheffiield recently.
The British Championships will be Jason's next diary date, followed shortly
after by the Champions on Ice Gala in Aberdeen on December 10th, where
Jason will be skating alongside all the British Champions.
AUGUST 2005
Jason has been training both in Aberdeen and
Inverness while the Elgin rink is closed for renewal of the ice. His training
is going well in preparation for the junior test in Sheffield between
September 14th and 16th, leading up to the Scottish Championships in Dumfries
in October.
JUNE 2005
Jason is about to start his 6 week intensive
summer training at Moray Leisure Centre, on average doing 3 hours on ice
a day and a hour and a half studio work a day, consisting of off ice program
choreography, flexibility, plyometrics and jump rotation. Jason also often
practices meditation, which teaches him relaxation skills before events.
For recreation Jason and his mum like to go for long walks at the beach
and in the woods, which takes them away from the pressures of skating.
Jason's sponsor Margaret Dearman gives him a lot of support by coming
to the ice rink to watch him and chat, which he will miss for a while
as she is going to Canada but looks forward to seeing her when she gets
back.
MAY
2005
Jason's skating
is improving quickly now since changing his blades and boots. He has got
his triple loop and triple salchow back and is now working on triple flip
and triple lutz in preparation for the Scottish Championships in October.
