2007 News

DECEMBER 2007 Jason had a very up and down trip to the Welsh Championships and IJS event in late November. He skated very well to pass his junior test and go into the lead after the short programme. The following day he did well in the free programme but just failed to get the pass mark for the long programme. He did however win the silver medal but the joy of winning this was then replaced by illness for Jason, making him delay his return to Scotland.

Jason now hopes to compete in a couple of international competitions to finish off this season and to prepare for the move to senior competition next year.

SEPTEMBER 2007 Jason travelled to Sheffield for the Sheffield Open IJS competition. Although his technical scores were not as high as hoped, Jason gave a spectacular performance and won the free programme with very high component marks. To see his marks click here. This gave him an overall bronze medal. He is now in training again for the Deeside IJS competition in November.

AUGUST 2007 Jason competed in the junior level IJS event at Lee Valley this month. This was his first competition for two years because of injury. His technical score was low but his components scores were very much higher.

JUNE 2007 There has been an exciting development in Jason's training. He has started being coached by Alice Fell at the Murrayfield Rink in Edinburgh. Jason will continue to practice at the Moray Leisure Centre in Elgin but will travel to Edinburgh periodically for his coaching sessions and to practice in the full size rink. He has resumed full training after his injury and is now working on his Triple flip and Triple Lutz.

Jason performed his long programme as an exhibition after the recent Inverness Skating Club Competition. He is photographed here with two of his fans from Inverness.

MAY 2007 Jason's injury has now improved enough for him to return to full training. His new programmes are well on the way to completion and he has been able to return to practising his triple jumps. Following his injury he has now landed Triple Lutz in addition to Triple Salchow, Triple Loop and Triple Toe.

FEBRUARY 2007 Jason's injury has continued to hamper his training through January and February, however he is hopeful that now, with extra muscle strengthening excercises he will be able to resume full training before too long. In January Jason visited the European Championships in Warsaw. More Warsaw Photos
